What happens to the baby?

The baby is absolutely ready for your first meeting! The bones have become harder, except the skull. This is related to the easier course of the delivery process and the baby’s passing through the birth canal.

Your little treasure is about 50-52 cm long and weighs approximately 4 kg. This is strictly individual, of course, and your baby might not fall within these specific ranges. However, there is an interesting law – boys are usually bigger than the girls.

If this is your first birth, there is a great chance the baby to come quite later than the estimated due term.

What happens to you?

You are a real heroine! You passed through 9 months full of all types of emotions – crying, joy, well-known experience and unknown thrills. You felt your body both as your own and as someone else’s body. You learned how to take care for you and for another little person living inside you.

And now you are here – at the run-off. The tests for you and your body may be at their end, but the real test is yet to begin! Remember this moment. Enjoy every moment of care, love and even anxiety for your baby, because as unnoticeably as the 9 months, you will see how he/she is already a grown up child, girl, boy, woman, man, mother, father

Soon you will be a mother and will realize that there is no other feeling that can be compared to this one. Smile to the new challenges during the motherhood! Maternea will be always with you!

This week you should ...

Have final consultations – You and your gynecologist should discuss the options in case the delivery comes quite late and does not occur spontaneously.

Go under a “non-stress” test – It is aimed at examining the baby’s heart frequency – through the sonogram test or with separate record.

Go under echography examination – This is the so called biophysical profile of the fetus. The supervising specialist follows-up the baby’s movements, the movements of the chest and the diaphragm, the muscle tonus.
